Pros

Management has begun moving in the right direction in terms of giving salespeople the tools they need to be most effective while on the road. Great opportunity to earn good money for the amount of work done. Excellent launchpad for a career in sales in industrial manufacturing.

Cons

Very visible glass ceiling for anyone who does not come from the Japanese HQ. Management positions are few, and tend not to open up very frequently. The culture is inflexible in certain aspects, making it sometimes difficult to maintain a good work/life balance. The repetitive nature of the job and the metrics used to assess salespeople become numbing over time and lead to a burnout of most salespeople by the 3-5 year mark. Good news is that by that time, companies with more flexible cultures will be knocking on your door to hire you. Bonus structure levels off at a sometimes unfair level compared to the amount of sales brought in.

Advice to Management

Continue pursuing technological advancements to empower your sales people. Open up more channels for information and knowledge sharing so that the high turnover isn't constantly causing you to lose vast sources of knowledge. Lose the ties. Move to a more flexible and modern CRM tool.

    Pros

The Pay is very compeititive and the benefits are great. The training is pretty long, but they are good at making sure you know their products quite well.

    Cons

You could hit your sales goals every month, but they seem to only care about how many phone calls you make a day. They don't trust their employees. You get an email every two hours telling you how many hours you were on the phone and how many calls you have made. If it isnt high enough you will get a phone call from the manager.

    Advice to Management

Lay off the phone records and look at results.

    Pros

Good Product Great for a sales position right of out college Can easily get hired elsewhere with a couple years experience Pretty good money

    Cons

Micromanagement Upper management just does not listen Company culture sucks and is very boring Depending on what boss you have it can either be cool or a living hell Will find yourself saying "we don't have that" alot The company has hardly any trust for its salespeople

    Advice to Management

Just take heed to what your employees are saying. Try to listen and take it to concern. Also they whole promotion system for mid to upper management is very bad.
