Pros

Good Product
Great for a sales position right of out college
Can easily get hired elsewhere with a couple years experience
Pretty good money

Cons

Micromanagement
Upper management just does not listen
Company culture sucks and is very boring
Depending on what boss you have it can either be cool or a living hell
Will find yourself saying "we don't have that" alot
The company has hardly any trust for its salespeople

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Just take heed to what your employees are saying. Try to listen and take it to concern. Also they whole promotion system for mid to upper management is very bad.

No opinion of CEO

I have been working at Keyence

    Pros

Excellent training program, great resources, great benefits, decent pay, good growth potential, healthy/ethical/fair/professional environment. Job is more of a hands-on applications consultant position than your typical sales job, lots of interesting industrial problem-solving projects, and most of your clients are technically-inclined enough to stimulate highly technical discussions. Engineering skills are not completely required, but definitely a huge plus.

    Cons

Still a sales job no matter how you cut it, so somewhat commision-based. Turnover is high when economy is good, or very bad, but they have a point system where you'll get paid fairly as long as you put in your hours. Fair amount of cold-calling. Training period is not as organized as it should be. Has potential for long hours.

    I worked at Keyence

    Pros

good product training, fun atmosphere, interesting products, company focused mgmt team

    Cons

your boss makes or breaks your experience. if you get a good mentor, and are willing to go the extra mile to learn the business, then this company will be a great 2-5 year adventure, but if you get stuck with a poor teacher (combined with a poor student) the entire experience will be less than enjoyable. the pay is ok, but not incredible, and the travel is exhausting...

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

treat your employees like family, or the company will not grow as fast or as powerful as it could
