I worked at Keynote Systems full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

The smallest public company, which means (for a mid level manager) a good opportunity to learn how to run a public company without the complexity of a large corporation
Excellent work-life balance. You can keep your previous lifestyle. No pressure.

    Cons

No pressure. Company stock is flat for years (except for a single peak due to change in financial reporting)
No pressure = no product innovation

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Delegate. Empower mid level management. Talent will follow

I worked at Keynote Systems full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

work life balance at only 60 work hours a week

    Cons

no life due to 60 work hours a week
    salary cuts
    no raises
sup-par salaries compared to industry standards (HR should do more to research this but they are filing their nails)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Cultures and Values: Live what you speak, you listen to customers needs but not ours. You talk a good game but don't follow through with employees. VPs should take a good look at their departments and just for a moment get their head out of cloud or..... wherever it is. Open you eyes and see where the problems are:
    Great Departments:
    -Product Managment
    -Engineering
    -Operations
    -Finance
    Needs Improvement:
    -Marketing
    -Sales & Support
    -Human Resources

    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook
    Disapproves of CEO
