I have been working at Kiewit Corporation full-time (more than 5 years)

Pros

Great for a first job, there is a high base salary and you will gain good experience with good benefits (eg health, not work life balance)

Cons

When you hit five years your salary becomes less competitive and with the poor work life balance, consistent moving and decreasing value of the stock program the benefits of staying do not outweigh the benefits of leaving. There is also a very rigid work structure, no room for "thinking out of the box". There is a form or template for everything and feedback on process improvements fall thought the cracks.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Let people stay on TDY instead of moving them, increase salaries for those who are not getting a significant amount of stock early on and let people manage their time they will still get their work done.

I worked at Kiewit Corporation full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

You learn alot about running a construction company. It is a good place to work if your a superintendent or a forman, unlimited overtime if they wanted.

    Cons

They pay very little. They are looking for college grads so they can underpay and get a cost saving on there overhead. They exspect 50 hrs a week and pay you salary. I was bringing home $550 week after taxes and withholding very little. I also had to comute another 10 hrs a week.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay graduates in the Business Management and engineering a bit more to retain good staff.
