Pros

While the brand teams can be pretty intense and work schedules pretty crazy- there is plenty of flexibility to manage you schedule as needed to maintain work/life balance. On site gym is a nice bonus.

Lots of opportunities for growth and advancement- but you have to be aggressive about going after them. Good people.

Cons

Work load can be crazy at times- particularly since head count was reduced last year. Senior leadership is often disconnected from the day-to- day business and the people that run it.

Advice to Management

Get to the know the team more and listen to what people really have to say.

Kimberly-Clark is a good place to work. It's a solid company, and work-life balance is a focus for most managers.

    Pros

Relatively strong company in a fairly steady industry. They have been around a long time and have many capable employees in a good community (Neenah, WI headquarters). Good people with whom I've worked.

    Cons

Hierarchy. No one in upper management cares to ask ot listen to employees. There is too much red tape and lack of communication between departments which have become more and more separated over the years.

    Advice to Management

Listen more to your lower-level employees. There are many great ideas and opportunities that could be provided if upper management were willing to listen.

  2. Great people, fantastic products, poor recruitment in marketing, mixed leadership capabilities

    Pros

Most friendly place I've ever worked.
Great products to work on with an innovative and inventive team developing them.
Salaries are good for the area and industry.
Resolute focus on the business plan.

    Cons

Young and junior marketing staff given too much responsibility too soon and this sadly shows in mistakes made by them.
Talent Development was virtually non-existent while I worked with them.
The organisation is too small in Europe to support effective development and the company rarely invests in international opportunities.
Bonus scheme is below industry norm.

    Advice to Management

    Improve career development opportunities.
Recognise that you have capable future leaders outside of the marketing and customer management teams.
