Kimberly-Clark – “We miss the 'good old days'

Pros

More than fair benefits, including med/dental/Educational Reimbursement. Ample opportunity for career exploration in the 'good old days' but not so much anymore. Unless you are willing to uproot your family every so often there is little opportunity for job growth.

Cons

The 'new and improved' Performance Management System and forced ranking. It's still all about 'who' you know, not 'what' you know. KC used to be much more family oriented and there were supervisors and team leaders who actually cared about their teams development. Now, every decision is political. KC lost some of it's best employees to 'outsourcing' and many others jumped ship before they could be cut.

Advice to Senior Management

Stop with the job cuts. Cheaper doesn't necessarily mean 'better.' Have Senior Mgmt make their own phone calls to the 'Help' Desk overseas and they'll quickly see what the rank and file have to deal with everyday.
