Former Employee - Cable Tech in Louisville, KY

Pros

Unlike most travelling jobs at a tech where I'd be away from home for weeks or months at a time. Kindred flew me between home and work every week. Pay was good with all expenses paid and per diem.

Cons

Depending on the project you would get alot of pressure from upper management to complete it in less time then is practical resulting in rediculously long hours which isn't particularly safe when climbing through ceilings and on ladders.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to your techs and PM's. Many of them are very hard working and if they say it's not practical or safe, it isn't. If a job is bid for 1 week but should take 2, that shouldn't be the techs problem to fix; the person who did the bid needs to spend some time on projects to get a better idea of what kind of obstacles to watch out for that can grind a cabling team to a crawl and will need extra time to complete correctly and safely.

Worst run company I have EVER worked for.

    Pros

There are none that I can think of, honestly.

    Cons

Terrible upper management in the facilities, an insulting PTO accruement policy (you accrue 4 hrs each pay period but can't use what you accrue in one quarter until the next quarter comes around!), and their benefits package is a JOKE. DO NOT work for this company unless you literally have no other choice. Working at McDonalds and flipping a burger is more rewarding than working for this company. KHC touts itself as a "Fortune 500" Company and one of the most "Inspiring Healthcare" Companies, yet they treat their employees, even department heads like total garbage, AND, they haven't given raises in FIVE YEARS!

Oh, and if you are hourly, they expect you to be on call 24/7 but then complain if you even get so much as 1/2 hr of overtime and then make you "fix" your timecard so you don't have it.

And then they wonder why an insane amount of turnover is such a chronic problem within their company....gee.....

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take some responsibility for the way you run things, show some respect, professionalism, and appreciation for your department heads and employees, and act like you give a sh** about job performance.
