Pros

Not sure there are any.

Cons

Hostile environment. Management threatens employees.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Quit threatening employees-they actually will find employment elsewhere. Stop piling on work and then expecting people to flex and/or work off the clock.

Not a big fan of Kindred's orientation process.

I worked at Kindred Healthcare full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

HR procedure was pretty straight forward and took about 2 weeks.

    Cons

Company needs to be more truthful when providing info about current nurse/pt ratio. Staffing in the vent-managed unit can be up to 1:5 NOT 1:4 that was reported when asked. Orientation process was backward. I was thrown out on the floor w/o access to policies/procedures that I would have had an opportunity to review during hospital orientation.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

"Putting the cart before the horse", so to speak NEVER works. Take the time to invest in your employees the right way, the first time. That is the way an organized successful company does things, and will reap the benefits of satisfied, productive employees.

I have been working at Kindred Healthcare full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Pay location majority of co workers are team players job its self is educational learning a lot of things you dont learn in long term care

    Cons

full time employee (32 hours per week) but only working pt hours(24 hrs/week if that, some times it less), still paying insurance as a full time employee but not getting my full hours and have not been for 6 months, yet they hire new staff instead of offering the hours to the full time staff in place!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

stop hiring staff when you cant even give full time employees their hours and if you aren't going to do that, then reclassify us to pt employees and pay us the pt rate
