Pros

Good local people, committed team.

Cons

Shake ups in upper management leave the boots on the ground with a sense of being on their own.

I worked at Kindred at Home full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

The division I worked for, Peoplefirst Hospice had absolutely wonderful and caring clinicians and psychosocial team members. They were done a major disservice by its (mis) management and marketing team.

    Cons

A director who was out of control, unable to manage the agency. The policies of Kindred overextended to what was realistic. Very slow in becoming computerized - now mandatory for agencies, but still not fully implemented in an easily usable form. Riddled with favoritism. Benefits: could do with less junk like shopping discounts but very poor health insurance benefits (They don't take care of their own!)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management has changed for that particular division. But overall, look at realistic caseloads and territories. Fix the computer system. Merge your home care system with your other facility systems so that all health care providers can utilize it to obtain appropriate information. Rein in marketing so that it will recommend appropriate eligible clients for applicable programs. Look at conflicts of interest. Need much better health care/insurance benefits-more choices need to be available-insurance with extremely high deductibles should not be the only choices.

    Pros

there are no pros just cons

    Cons

backstabbing - non team work environment - they use you - they screw you with insurance benefits - they promise to send you to training to learn about their systems but never do -

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

train employees and keep your promises - don't terminate insurance until the end of month - don't leave someone without insurance - give them at least a week to get it so you don't end up with a lapse - don't back stab -
