I have been working at King's College London full-time

    Pros

Higher end university (though it tends to trade on its reputation rather than worrying about maintaining it).
Relaxed working environment (mostly but see management comments).
    Historic reputation.
    Certain specialist subjects highly rated.
Decent office space if you don't mind open plan.

    Cons

Central computing facilities poor compared to other top end universities eg you cannot assume your desktop will be gigabit connected.
Management is top heavy and ineffective.
Wages not as good as some other colleges in London.
Not much chance of career progression except by changing jobs either within or without the college.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Ask your staff what they think would benefit the college.
    Sort out the IT provisions.
Let the people who want to make a difference make a difference.

I have been working at King's College London

    Pros

There is no doubt that the location is very advantageous for maintaining close links with the financial sector in places like Canary Wharf.

    Cons

As King's College London is a campus based university, it is sometimes difficult to find out about the university as a whole and just be connected throughout.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I am very impressed by the teaching standards of King's and the facilities that are available to staff and students such as the library.
