I have been working at Kmart part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Friendly co workers, the job itself is quite easy.

    Cons

Most hours you can expect in a week are less than 20. Don't expect a raise ever.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Acknowledge the work and effort us cashiers put into selling their store. Raises would do wonders!

I worked at Kmart full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

    - Friendly staff (not managers)
    - 10% employee discount

    Cons

    - In my 2+ years of experience I received plaques and certificates verifying that I had good sales and customer service skills, but never received a raise.
    - The company downsized and within a week got rid of half their employees, showing that we were more of an expendable resource for them.
    - There is no communication between members of management.
    - Seniority ranks higher than skill or knowledge, with the managers taking thirty to forty minutes to help a customer when called for, and more often then not simply dismissed the customer's concerns or complaints.
    - No room for advancement.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    - Get new management, people who can do the job

    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook
