It was a very pleasant work environment. I enjoyed all my fellow sale associates and it was exciting to work.

I have been working at Kmart part-time (less than a year)

Pros

Amazing team members, Flexible hours, Fast paced and shifts flew by, Breaks/Lunches were always on time

Cons

Having to bother customers with handfuls of different questions and asking for their telephone numbers each time at the register, Low pay, Overnights

Advice to ManagementAdvice

As a Kmart customer myself, the SYWR plan is a great way to save money for the customers, but at the same time it often bothered customers and their privacy by requiring cashiers to constantly ask for their phone numbers every transaction often caused problems. Bring the physical cards back!

I have been working at Kmart full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

There are some excellent people who work here, and I think some of those friends will last a long time after we stop working here.
Decent discounts. Usually 20% on clothes and 10% on almost everything else.

    Cons

The stores haven't been updated since the 1970's (1980's in a few cases and 1990's in a very few locations). Until the company is will to invest in the stores, then Kmart will continue to slide down market. And how much lower can it really go?

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

invest in the stores or else kmart will die in the next 4-5 years.

I worked at Kmart full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

You will meet some very good people

    Cons

Where to start, poor management from the top down, sinking sales, no plan to turn the company around.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be honest and tell your employees that the company is sinking, it has not made a profit in almost 5 years. your credit rating is almost at poor, your closing stores everywhere etc
