Pros

They appear to have plenty of freight ...

Cons

Very little accountability by those that sit on the phone all day ...

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Remember that drivers pay the bills by safely delivering the freight, per FMCSA regulations.

I worked at Knight Transportation full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Co-workers, company culture and overall atmosphere. Great company to start a career in transportation. Company is completely debt free. They give you a wide array of opportunities to work in different departments in order to gain knowledge of logistics and trucking. Great starting salary.

    Cons

Slow pay raises, long hours. The work can sometimes be overwhelming.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Keep doing a great job!

I worked at Knight Transportation part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

QE-logs, they keep the DOT out of your pocket, since they don't usually bother to check them. Miles are about average, 10 k a month. They have a nice motel for orientation.

    Cons

E-logs, they are hard to use, lacking ease of use. Same with Qualcomm macros, too dang many to fill out; means less time driving. Its about 3 -5 macros to send a load or empty call. Here's another time waster: Communication is horrible to negligible. You can be on the phone for a half hour waiting to talk to someone. And they ignore most qualcomm messages (and fail to respond to them) so your forced to use up your own cell phone minutes without compensating you for it. might as well turn it off, if you work there so they're forced to use QC.
Terminal manager is not suited to his position, should be somewhere, just not there in that seat. I heard he even manipulated drivers e-logs, so that they could drive more hours! So much for safety
awareness, Harrassment is a big problem with these e-logs, government sponsored in-servitude.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please think about others before yourself, we are all working to help each other, so realize we all are not treated equal, its not your fault, but it can change with a little effort for the better. Thank you.
