Former Employee - Lease Driver in Oakland, CA
Former Employee - Lease Driver in Oakland, CA

I worked at Knight Transportation full-time (less than an year)

Pros

Dry van is easy as hell compared to the flatbeds I was used to. Hometime for lease guys can be pretty good.

Cons

When I signed on with Knight Port Services as a lease driver, they claimed I'd be making $1200 to $1500 per week when all was said and done. After working my ass off for several months, doing everything right, I was actually taking home between 0 and $400 a week, despite getting excellent mileage. Dispatch was incredibly unreliable, it was nearly impossible to get in touch with my driver manager, and they often gave me wrong information. The company is unbelievably bad to work for. It's hard to believe, but Knight is actually worse than Swift, in everything aside from hometime.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Quit scamming your drivers and making promises you can't keep.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

We are working hard for you.Appreciate your drivers more and treat them better,Don't tell a driver he has a perfect record then terminate him.Think about their hardships when you do!
