I have been working at Kofax full-time (less than an year)

Pros

Analyst-validated leadership in our core markets, high performance culture, agile and smart. Deep bench of talented people at every level - some of the best I've ever worked with and I've been in this industry a long time. Beautiful work environment. All tools provided to do the job.

Cons

Can benefit from better balance. Some risk burnout while others clock punch.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Maintain high standards, that's the reason Kofax is a financially healthy market leader. Focus on doing fewer things exceptionally well to alleviate the burnout.

Like a Wormy Apple- Looks good on the outside, but rotten at its core

I worked at Kofax full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Some talented engineers, developers, operations people. A good solid base of customers using their products, cash rich company.

    Cons

Morale is just poisonous. Everyone except top management feels as though management is just in it for the big money; no involvement where it could really help. No employee incentives to speak of (a taxable dinner is not exactly an incentive to work every weekend). Big stories, little follow through. Marketing rules the roost probably because they are the ones maintaining that shiny exterior of the wormy apple. Management projects (with great zeal) the "you're all inferior" while at the same time expecting results. Fear of recrimination are second nature; no body can make a mistake even if it is a good learning experience. But even middle-management seems completely dejected, disenchanted with their careers, their departments...things are just not working without motivating leadership.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Walk the floors of the headquarters, and get to know what your people do, how they want to contribute. Make the effort to at least act like you care. Foster an environment where backstabbing is NOT permitted, and learning from new mistakes is the way to expand the corporate commitment from its people.

I worked at Kofax full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Great group of people, healthy work - life balance, focused on process improvement (SDLC), and people can exercise during lunch.

    Cons

Jobs are being shipped overseas, Kofax's inabiliy to break into new markets.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't forget that people is what moves your ship. Eventually your people will wear out and abandon ship.
