    I have been working at Kohl's part-time

    Pros

    15% employee discount, 15 minute breaks (instead of the legally mandated 10), many store locations to apply to, flexible hours

    Cons

    Horrible training - inconsistent and incomplete. Learned how to work cash register by using a pdf file (that was out of date and had many incorrect instructions) and was put on register within a day. Will get yelled at by one manager for doing something the way another manager told you to.
    Too much emphasis on selling credit - can do everything right, have stellar reviews from customers, and still be yelled at for not making credit.
    Much more work than other places require for the amount of pay.

    Competitive entry level salary
    Large amount of PTO

    Cons

    Long, long hours
    no compensation incentive based on incremental work
    Raises determined only on store performance
    Annual Raise ranges determined only by company performance.
    Large disconnect between corporate and store level, never enough funding to satisfy expectations, salaried workers must fill the gaps.

    Provide a bonus structure to positions below store manager
    Be more engaged in store level activities and opportunities
