I worked at Kohl's part-time (less than a year)

Pros

Some of the employees are super friendly, and they try to help you.

Cons

some rude managers.
don't like when you call off, you get "penalized" (I was sick, and the manager was super rude because I was calling off.)
Had me working 6-8 hour nights back to back (I was only seasonal)
Give you a thousand things to do at once, and thats fine, until they get rude because they forget the crazy list of things they had you doing, and think youre not staying on task.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't be so rude to seasonal workers. We're here to help. I once over heard a manager saying "Don't worry about the temps." to one of the full time workers.

    I worked at Kohl's

    Pros

flexible scheduling for college kids, everyone is very friendly and a pleasure to work with

    Cons

too credit focused, not great compensation or pay raises

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Needs to communicate better on a store level. On a corporate level, they need more help in the stores. It's a great store with a great selection of merchandise but you need more people to help customers in the department and more cashiers. That would help the customers with assistance on the floor and checking out faster. And it would help the associates by not spreading them so thin and to relieve unnecessary stress and making it a more pleasant atmosphere.
