I worked at Kohl's full-time (more than 3 years)

Pros

For all intense purposes, it seems to be a very ethical company.

Cons

Hard to get past Area Supervisor.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Look at the talent you have developed and reward them in a monetary way. Good people slip through the cracks and you end up training new people constantly.

    I worked at Kohl's part-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Kohl's really does have good merchandise -- the brands that they carry are high quality, so you feel as if you're selling good products. Their customer service program (kohl's cash, pick-your-days, etc.) is top notch, the corporate marketing department really has a good understanding of their store demographic. All in all, a pretty good and growing company.

    Cons

It's retail -- of course it's going to be annoying once in a while. Unruly customers, late hours, low patience...but there are downsides to every job.

    I worked at Kohl's part-time (more than a year)

    Pros

I really liked the employee discount and flexible scheduling. Worked great with my class schedule and 2nd job. I also liked the company culture, with an emphasis on volunteering and giving back

    Cons

Some employees at my store were hard to work with, but what company doesn't have bad employees? I also didn't like the over attention to credit solicitation; I felt like there was too much pressure given to getting credit applications

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I wish there wasn't so much focus on credit solicitation; those with more credit applications got better/more hours
