I worked at Kraft Foods

Pros

Great People, Great Brands consumers trust. Many opportunities to work across multiple brands and locations. Strong leadership team to mentor individuals

Cons

Kraft Foods is not competitive with salaries in the market place. Many of their peer companies over 20-30% more for the same role. Kraft has lost many strong individuals simply because of salary differences

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Provide better direction and develop more robust strategy for long term projects. For example, there were a lot of issues with SAP project that could be averted with better leadership.

I have been working at Kraft Foods full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Great iconic brands, great people, amazing amount of resources available with the ability to chase what is hot or popular.

    Cons

The company has the tendency to chase the shiny new toy with the inability to stick with decisions that have been made. The performance goals have a severe stretch in them. There are cliques and a strong degree of levelism throughout the organization although those in charge would refute those thoughts. The most disappointing factor is the short term focus at the expense of a long term view. There is a lot going on behind the curtain.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

J.L. Kraft is said to have coined the phrase; "What we say we do, we do do." Interesting words to consider. There are a lot of great talented people whose work goes unappreciated and unrecognized. The lines need to be blurred between Corporate, the Business Units, and the Manufacturing network to do a better job of making everyone believe that they are on the same team.

    Recommends
    Neutral Outlook
    Disapproves of CEO
