Former Employee – worked at Kroger as an intern for more than a year
Pros – The work environment was comfortable and productive. The people (coworkers and clients) were great to work with. The technologies used were fun to work with, though some were a bit outdated.
Cons – Pay was not very competitive
Work location was easier to reach when the tech center was located in downtown Cincinnati
Advice to Senior Management – I loved management. They were nice and easy to talk to, and listened to what employees had to say. I just wish HR wasn't as tight on pay. The maximum HR allowed to pay at entry level was only about 1/2 to 2/3 what all of my other offers were from other companies. I hear that HR is working to make things more competitive and a lot of rules are currently changing, so I see issues like this to be resolved in the future, and I hope to return someday. I really wanted to stay, but at the time the salary difference was just too great, and I ended up deciding to leave. However, the career-developing experience I received while I was there was unforgettable; I don't regret a second of working with this company. I never wanted to go home.
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company
