I worked at Kroll full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Some of the work is very interesting. For recent grads without significant work experience, it can be a good first step if you are only looking for a few months experience before you move on to the next thing. This firm has the potential to be a great company to work for, but they do not seem to want to make it a better place to work.

    Cons

There is no career track; those who play political games will be promoted fast while those who focus on the work will be taken advantage of. Even those promoted will not be provided a decent raise to go along with significantly more responsibilities. They fail to reward (with merit bonuses and raises), even when the company is doing well. There is very little transparency and way too many personal relationships.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

As the company continues to grow, continuing to reward those who network and play games and do very little work while at the same time ostracizing those who want to work hard and accomplish something will result in a useless work force. Learn to look past these alliances and friendships and see who is actually making the business successful. Reward them. Develop a real career track.
