I worked at L-3 Communications full-time (more than 5 years)

Pros

Average employee age: 35. Free coffee, fresh fruit. Free bagel/muffin day once a week. Good mid-sized company with little red-tape.

Cons

Some roles are pre-defined and hard to move around within the company. Pay is not competitive.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

More professional development training is needed and career goals should be discussed during performance evaluations.

I worked at L-3 Communications full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Easy to get hired quickly. Decent pay and benefits. Good for people who always wanted to be in the military or want to continue feeling as if they are.

    Cons

They throw you in the shark tank of military without any support. You are not encouraged to expand your skills. No sense of being part of the "team."

I worked at L-3 Communications full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

The people I worked for and the support team were always helpful and got the the job done. No complaints or delays processing travel claims or any other problems. As I was working a great distance from the home office, this was essential.

    Cons

Not really a con, but the diviision I worked for, C2S2, is no longer a part of L3, it was spun off as Engility in the Summer of 2012

The only con I can come up with is not being able to find a another position within L3 or Engility to move to that will take me back to the US.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Keep up the good work.
