I have been working at L & W full-time for more than a year

Pros

Good manufacturing footprint, and lots of potential. Sadly the cons out-weigh the Pros,

Cons

NO work life balance. Absolutely ZERO processes/procedures in place to manage your responsibilities. Senior Management does not seem to be able to make decisions based on the long term effect, and does not have any interest in building a team oriented environment.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Your team members are not simply cogs in a wheel.... to reach full potential, the correct people with the correct skill sets need to be in the right positions. If growth is to continue, business cannot continue to be managed the same way it was when L & W was a small, home-grown, family based company.

    Networking & cross-functional related work

    Cons

    No training on internal systems, no performance feedback prior to dismissal. Information to do the job was fed on an as needed basis. Others who possessed information to do my job were unwilling to share and not forthcoming. Morale was bad, no raises in 7 years, but recently had enforced a mandatory pay cut of 7% for all employees. Nepotism runs rampant.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    You hire someone new and don't want them to ask any questions, just fall right in and do the job! Not very realistic.
