I have been working at LA Fitness full-time (Less than a year)

Pros

-Potential to realistically make 80k your first year -If you are hungry to make money you can -The sales managers / vice presidents are brilliant at selling and will help you become better -If you like the gym atmosphere you will fit in well

Cons

-The hours are long and draining -It's difficult to maintain a social life -Most people do not do well in this position because of the stress -Out of the 7 clubs I've been to there are no break rooms -If you cannot sell you will earn minimum wage (not necessarily a con, but for some yes)

Advice to Management

None.

I have been working at LA Fitness part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

-A place to get some experience as a completely inexperienced trainer -Full membership with employment

    Cons

-Amazingly low pay for personal trainers while clients pay just as much as they would for a well experienced trainer on their own -There was never a manager to go to with questions, they would just send you from person to person and never provide any help

    Advice to Management

Work on being more competitive with your pay rate and be more knowledgeable.

I have been working at LA Fitness full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

You get to work full time which is 40 upon hire. so it's nice. Free membership!

    Cons

though there is commission, it's hard to get. They're on in up and up system so you have to have 3 of your appointments show or you have to make 2 sales before you can talk to any of the walk -ins. As a new employee and being new to the sales industry, the kind of throw you out there to the wolves. They tell you to lie to customers on the phone and in store saying we have "deals" when they've been in the system forever. Not to mention they kind of look down on you going home to take your break. That's actually why I got fired today. So my suggestion is don't work there unless you're planning to be a very aggressive, partially dishonest salesman.
