Former Employee - Kids Club Attendant/Front Desk in Grand Prairie, TX

I worked at LA Fitness part-time for more than a year

    Pros

Free gym membership, cool staff- well that's kinda iffy. The turnover rate is so high you'd make a friend and they'd be gone in a few weeks. If you like kids, you might have fun.

    Cons

Everything and I mean EVERYTHING in the kids club was broken. Staff brought things from our homes so the kids would have something to do! Not to mention how dirty everything was. It was hardly cleaned properly. At one point we had ants for over a month. It took a kid getting bit for them to do something.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Do your job and take care of the ENTIRE gym. Not just working on clear-ups.

Former Employee - Front Desk in Riverside, CA

I worked at LA Fitness part-time for less than a year

    Pros

    - You have access to the gym and you don't have to pay for a membership
    - Opportunity to make commission

    Cons

    - Management was terrible
    - The salesmen are sharks
    - The trainers are sharks
    - It's an individualistic environment, it doesn't revolve around teamwork. It revolves around selfish desires

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Enforce stricter rules. People are able to get in with other people's memberships. So much emphasis is focused on making AED calls that customer services is terrible. LA Fitness worries more about sales than they do on creating value to returning members.
