I worked at LA Fitness full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

get to know lots of people
    you can workout for free
you have access to the entire facility
you build relationships with the trainers and it feels like family

    Cons

a lot of pressure from management to complete the quotes plus you still have to manage your employees, take care of the machines and the customers. Also you are on call 24/7 without pay.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please don't have Operations Manager on call and if you do pay for it. Give some responsibilities to the General Manager.

    Doesn't Recommend
    Neutral Outlook
    No opinion of CEO

    I worked at LA Fitness

    Pros

Great opportunity for an initial position to gain experience and get my foot in the door in the industry. Gym was in a well centralized mall with decent traffic and a fair number of members.

    Cons

The pay rates are much below the typical industry standard. They provide very little as far as career development or any room for advancement.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make the position one that encourages a trainer to grow and develop with the company on order to grow and maintain a client base for themselves as well as the company.
