I have been working at LG Electronics

Pros

it a fast growing company.

Cons

LG is replacing senior ledership with local employee who doesn't have talent to do the job.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

New senior ledership from region (Local VP) does not add value to what makes LG as strong company. There are more confusion and conflict that brings down uniting spirit and uplifting work enviroment. LG need to promote employees who understands what LG stand for and introduce a new direction that builds on top of the current.

If you are the smartest person in the room you need to think why you are in there. But you can meet with good people.

I have been working at LG Electronics

    Pros

Fast growth, a lot of new opportunities on a global scale.

    Cons

The executive ranks are filled with 'lifers' who know relatively little about what their team should be doing. Many a times after the annual executive shuffling in the winter, some teams and their staff are adrift for months, not sure about what they should do. On the other hand, sometimes things happen too fast without clear direction.
There still are arcane, nonsensical policies that need to be cleaned out.
Performance reviews and evaluations will need to improve.
Glass ceilings between Korean employees and the 'locally hired' employees should be abolished ASAP!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Fill the management rank with more people that have hands-on experience and knowledge set that compares well with competing companies.
Get rid of old regulations and policies so that the company will grow in a better direction and the employees will feel more rewarded for their efforts.

Good company to work for, but product quality and service could improve

    I worked at LG Electronics

    Pros

Good benefits and salary -- full medical, dental, 401K, etc., and salary is in the middle range for industry (not too low, but not the very top). The products are innovative and cutting edge -- exciting to be involved with.

    Cons

There was a general lack of willingness to stand behind product quality from senior management. When customers came back with repairs or broken products, especially older (no longer made) models, senior management gave them a sorry/oh well! response. This was incredibly discouraging and really came off to customers as an overall lack of strong customer service and understanding of the rather important American value of standing behind the quality of one's product. It seemed the very high/senior management (especially Korean) didn't grasp this concept fully and just how important it is to the American consumer. Likewise, the American ideal of "I want it now" was also squashed when it tooks months and months to produce products in a timely and needed manner. There was certainly a problem with proper management at forecasting product need at the mid-management level (apparently due to pressure from top management not to over-order).

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to the sales team -- they are the ones out there on the front line dealing with the customers directly!
