I have been working at LPL Financial full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

decent health benefits, many decent people, decent facilties (nice lounge area, very good cafeteria, Starbucks in lobby, gym, pinball machine).

    Cons

poor pay, limited mobility (and when you do apply for an internal job, whether you receive a response is completely arbitrary), terrible operations processes (rampant outsourcing---the smallest tasks are handled incompetently), constantly putting out fires, the recruited advisors are made promises that are not kept.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Reduce outsourcing, focus on employee retention to create skilled workers.

    Pros

You can learn a lot, but you have to take the initiative (as it should be).

    Cons

A lot of lip service to developing employees, but no real follow through.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Follow through on the promises made when you're trying to get an employee to accept your offer.

    Neutral Outlook
    No opinion of CEO
