Top Mgmt is good, but Lower Mgmt is dirty

    Pros

LRN is a good company doing its best to spread the message of self-governance all over the world. The US mgmt has tried to implement the concept of self-governance at the Mumbai office, by providing an ambience, culture and facilities which no other organization will offer to all of it's employees. Newcomers may find a welcome change and will feel that they have come to a good place finally and will try to settle down permanently.

    Cons

Though the concept of self-governance is something to look forward to at LRN Mumbai, but please be careful to know that your mentor or functional manager behave like foxes. They will talk a lot about the Leadership Framework and inspiring others, but those are the "only" people who enjoy all the benefits of self-governance. Should you try hands at self-governance, then just be careful you might lose your job. Should you displease them or not listen to their false ideas, then "you had it". Moreover, the HR team is biased, and will not try to investigate and will generally abide by what the FM has to say. Just be careful, if you can please your seniors you have a good stay, else bye-bye.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

LRN is a good organization and Dov has strived hard to promote the self-governing culture. But a company which is trying to transform the world, should peek indepth and try to find if its people at the lower rank are happy enough? Anonymous surveys will unearth a lot of irregularities and displeasure. People fear for their jobs and therefore do not voice their true opinions. It would be good to practice "true self-governance" within the organization and then promote this culture to the world

    Pros

LRN has some of the brightest, most inspiring and dedicated individuals out there. They recruit people who not only care about the work the do, but the company in which they are doing it for. LRN's mission of Inspiring Principled Performance is one that is seamlessly integrated into all its work.

    Cons

Every company has its weaknesses at times. Because it is a smaller company, tasks can get delegated around to colleagues that already have a lot on their plate and are expected to fulfill multiple roles. Although this can be a chance to learn more, it can be overwhelming.
