LSG SKY Chefs – “LSG SKY Chefs continues to lead the industry in Airline Catering and Services”
Pros
This truly is the most "family-like" environment I have ever worked in. The people are what make this a great place to work. Management does a good job of communicating what is going on with the company every month. Flexible work schedules are available offering work from home and/or differing start times.
Cons
The downside of working at LSG is the dependence on the Airline industry and the volatility involved there. Fuel costs and the economy impact people flying and if people are not flying, then the airlines are looking at ways to cut costs. That has caused a history of layoffs at the company and really hangs over the heads of employees during difficult times.
Advice to Senior Management
Compensation and Benefits are lagging for such a large, leading company in the industry. Back in the day of Flight Privileges you could get by with paying employees a little below market value. But now without that benefit, and the rise in costs, salaries need to increase. I know it is a difficult time for the company and industry, but it is also difficult for the employees with everything getting more and more expensive. Without good employees, the company will suffer. Keep the good employees and continue to diversify and develop vertical and horizontal markets around our core competencies.
