I have been working at La Petite Academy full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

The teachers are nice and deal with crazy situations

    Cons

Too many children to the number of staff in a class. Things are disorganized.things are always done at the last minute. It is frustrating to never know when things are happening.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make sure you have enough staff to handle the amount of children in the center. Hire a new director who knows what the heck they are doing. Debby's has no clue. The assistant director can be a bit pushy but overall gets the job done.

If you have degree, get certified or licensed so you can go into the school system.

I have been working at La Petite Academy full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Feeling like you a making a difference in the kids lives, whether it's teaching them, helping them with homework, or providing them with love.

The appreciation from the parents that recognize your work and dedication.

    Cons

The "project based" curriculum that requires what is sometimes ridiculous amounts of materials, and is expected to be done on a constant, if no day-to-day basis. And a lot of the times (in my case), I don't receive the materials requested.

    The pay is low.

The workplace gets very catty/ high-school-like at times, but I'm sure that's everywhere.

Sometimes feel like management doesn't listen to you.

Rules and regulations that are in place, but are violated constantly.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to your employees...the ones who are actually in the classroom with the children on a daily basis.
