Pros

Good foot in the door, good experience and resume builder. Good if your job search is going nowhere and this is the first and only place to contact you.

Cons

-poor respect from senior managment, senior management did not do the quarterly reviews they were required to do.
-advancement seemed to be given on a random or arbitrary basis. Many employees that were promoted didnt deserve it and many that deserve it were given nothing.
-they often didnt promote from within. They would bring in people who knew less than you did above you because they had more "experience"

Advice to Senior Management

Treat your employees with respect, for senior management; bring in managers who are both knowledgeable in science and laboratory operations, and good with people.
