Pros

Plenty of good "moonlighting" jobs on any shift. When you go to the doctor, your lab tests are free if you send them to Labcorp.

Cons

Unless you are a technologist, the career advancement is somewhat limited. The benefits package is wide but the health insurance deductible is too high ($1000 individual and $3000 family) and the coverage is substandard. In fact, my college recently asked me to buy additional coverage because they felt that my insurance did not provide enough coverage to sit safely in a classroom.

Advice to Senior Management

Work on developing the leadership ability of lower-level managers and supervisors. Many of the managers and supervisors at this location haven't got a clue about how to lead people or manage processes. I cannot blame them--most went to med-tech school only and have no leadership training or ability. Oh, our customers would like for us to resolve our service issues--not just put a band-aid on them.
