Pros

Talented artist who create some of the most amazing work in the industry. A competitive benefit package.

Cons

Human Resource department cannot be trusted. Clicky management team that acts more like a bunch Jr. High kids than professional people entrusted to run a company. Location of the downtown studio is ideal, however the Hillsboro location is far out and hard to get to.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get to know who the true talent is and quit holding on to the LOFT. Provide more guidance to new managers. Be honest and upfront with your employees if you want them to be loyal to you. Spread the love and be more fair with recognition and salary.

The employees are diverse and creative, but the environment is as bleak as the weather.

I have been working at Laika, Inc

    Pros

The opportunity to work on a creative and unique feature film.
Getting to interact with talented artists and diverse people.
    The company does offer benefits.

    Cons

Supervisors do not have their own supervisors, so there is no protection against supervisor bullying and poor treatment.
There are techniques used that are questionable to health and safety risks.
The pay is well below the average of feature film.
Issues are swept under the rug instead of resolved.
There is a strong lack of communication and organization both within and between departments.
There is non-stop overtime leading to an entire crew of burned out employees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

More time should be spent on testing out procedures to make sure that they are safe.
Supervisors should be reference checked to make sure that they are fully capable of leading their teams. There are supervisors that are managing employees without having knowledge or experience of what is required to complete work.
