Pros

You gain experience working on global accounts and get to work with some of the most talented brand experts. The work environment is supportive and collaborative.

Cons

Lot's of freelancers... not much commitment. It's hard to move up in the company, especially if you are in an entry level position.

Advice to Management

I would suggest to take more risk in the design process. Push others to go outside of the box. More collaboration between client services and designers.

    Approves of CEO

    Pros

It is respected. Once it's on your resume you can go anywhere you want. You get to work with huge, important clients doing work that very few do. What Landor does is very helpful to clients and you can see the impact you make on the company and in the marketplace. It's sometimes flexible and there are a lot of great benefits.

    Cons

Reinventing the wheel during every single project. We don't live up to the things we ask our clients to do. The turnover makes everything a pain. Someone's rank immediately means their opinion is more valuable.

    Advice to Management

Get aligned. Practice what you preach. Talk to each other and the people who are doing the work. Live up to your own brand.

I worked at Landor full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

global company with a great and proud history...

    Cons

...unfortunately the great history is all that Landor employees have to hold on as the current situation of mismanagement and revenue deterioration is dismal and the future looks rather bleak! When I joined a few years ago Landor was growing, had a fantastic CEO and a wonderful, globally involved and visible Chief Talent Officer. Landor's CFO's are traditionally not so great as they are only numbers driven and beholden to WPP, but he was kept in line by the CEO and CTO. In other words, those three got stuff done! Unfortunately the CEO and CTO (Chief Talent Officer) as well as much of global HR , (and the CFO) were either demoted, let go or left on their own accord, and were replaced with highly invisible, stand offish, distant and detached Senior Management. HQ is now London where it used to be San Francisco. Numbers rule everything and competition between the offices has become fierce. The company has become A LOT colder and it seems that there isn't a clearly defined strategy in place in order to set the boat back on course. Needless to say good people aren't sticking around and leave...in high numbers!

    Advice to Management

Why can't you involve more people in key decisions? Why are people being hyped and become the only ones you listen to and everyone else gets ignored? Why not put Client and Staff needs first instead of your team team of toadies? Why not listen to people a little more and talk down to them a little less?
