Former Employee - Corporate Employee in Houston, TX

Pros

Great perks like a discount dining program, cheap but good cafeteria in the building along with a gym, fun internal employee events like an annual Halloween and Holiday Party, and free tickets to all local sporting events. A good place to start your career because so much is thrown at you as an employee, wherein you are forced to develop good working habits like time and project management that will definitely help you later in your career. You have the ability to work on high-level projects that will greatly improve your work experience, however, there is not a "set you up for success" feeling from management in that you are working on the project on a trial by error basis.

Cons

A very micro-managed culture that doesn't promote a healthy work-life balance. No sense of open communication between management and employees: executive management is completely seperated away from the rest of the employees behind locked doors. No good employee feeling of "let me set you up for success" from management.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep an open flow of communication to employees - you don't have to explain everything that is happening, but at the very least an acknowledgement of situations goes a long way. Be more understanding when employees need to take time off.

    Pros

It has a nice atmosphere, the managers not only try but do make things work smoothly, you get a decent amount of hours, they work diligently with trainees, and the pay is pretty decent. All of the staff is over all friendly.

    Cons

It is a little too uptight and you can usually see it in the employees faces. The other employees are too concerned about the other employees rather than the customers. There is not enough team work involved unless requested by managers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The managers could speak up a little more with constructive criticism. You need to open up more to the clientele, it seems to me that you don't usually notice the customers are there unless you are called upon and then still have your employees on your mind.

Current Employee - Kitchen Manager in San Antonio, TX

    Pros

Salary is on the high end of the industry, locations pretty much everywhere, Its a well known company and the name would look good on your resume, real potential to grow if you are willing to play the politics,

    Cons

Company is too fat, too many politics, doesnt feel like a modern company, Senior Managment feel to comfortable with the routine they have, in over 4 years Ive been with the company I havent seen any changes, not even menus.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Lets make the company more 21st century, lots of paper work for nothing, 45 items on the menu???? come on lets do 12 items perfectly instead of running 45 min tickets .
