Good Place to Start Your Career

Corporate Employee (Former Employee)
Houston, TX

ProsGreat perks like a discount dining program, cheap but good cafeteria in the building along with a gym, fun internal employee events like an annual Halloween and Holiday Party, and free tickets to all local sporting events. A good place to start your career because so much is thrown at you as an employee, wherein you are forced to develop good working habits like time and project management that will definitely help you later in your career. You have the ability to work on high-level projects that will greatly improve your work experience, however, there is not a "set you up for success" feeling from management in that you are working on the project on a trial by error basis.

ConsA very micro-managed culture that doesn't promote a healthy work-life balance. No sense of open communication between management and employees: executive management is completely seperated away from the rest of the employees behind locked doors. No good employee feeling of "let me set you up for success" from management.

Advice to Senior ManagementKeep an open flow of communication to employees - you don't have to explain everything that is happening, but at the very least an acknowledgement of situations goes a long way. Be more understanding when employees need to take time off.
