Pros

Three shift plant includes: Tool shop with CNC capabilities, warehouse, and molding area. Plant is fairly clean, however not well organized.

Cons

Company is top heavy on nepotism and hiring from its good old boy network. A definite glass wall existed between the office, and the regular workers. Another thing that was somewhat uncomforting seemed to be a sense of tension among upper management, which lightened up during the week. Weekends are great, but problems did exist on Thursday and Friday which going unchecked, caused problems the next week.

Training, was minimum and supervisors failed to follow up to see if new hires adhered to quality and time standards. If problems did arise due to this, the blame game trickling down to others was the usual solution. The company was ISO certified, but in two years, that was still a work in progress.

Experienced being hired seemed rare, and the opening pay rate was below poverty level. Turnover among new hires was terribly high.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Chain of command needs to be better defined. A human resources director wouldn't hurt. "Writing people up" went out with our McDonalds jobs.

    Pros

Busy shop needs a little more order to it. There is enough to keep you full time here, but the shifts vary with better or worse help making other shifts pick up the slack. Overtime is usually available, but not always the easiest to adjust to last minute.

    Cons

Payraises are rare and per managements belief, across the board. "Do the minimum and be rewarded the same as those who do more", would seem to be the policy. This company uses way too many temps, which makes training a little difficult as they disappear as fast as they show up.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

No need for the "one big family" approach between the office and shop. Nobody believes it. Do your job, and let us do ours.

    Pros

Steady work at a growing company

    Cons

No training when you're hired and what training there is comes from the employees themselves, not from anyone in management or a designated trainer. There is no follow up on that training or any type of performance evaluation to see how you are doing and provide any feed back. Constantly asked to work weekends which is fine if you don't have a family or life and just want to work. Management is always changing course which makes everything chaotic. The health benefits are expensive to contribute to and are lacking for how expensive the are- but fine if you never get sick, and don't care about your teeth or eyes. False promises of pay raises and what pay raises do happen are given across the board to everyone, not because you've done a good job there and should be rewarded. I found management rude and hard to approach. No retirement plan. Don't expect to advance in this company, no matter what position you're in.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take care of and at least act like you appreciate your employees- training, evaluations, better health benefits, raises for those who are contributing and doing a good job will go a long way towards attracting a happier, healthier, and qualified work force. If you want quality in your products it must start with your employees.
