I worked at Laureate Education full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Company does good job hiring smart, intelligent individuals with good qualities.

    Cons

Management is only focused on the politics and getting on the next higher step on the corporate ladder... People who work the hardest are not necessary the ones that are given the opportunities to succeed. If the company could have you work 24hrs a day with no additional compensation, they would. Annual salary increases go up to 2.5% MAX for employees that perform above expectations.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop being so money hungry and focus more on developing work environment where people will feel appreciated. Find ways to reward hard work. Find funds in the budget to serve at least decent Christmas meal, so people don't feel that they got cold Thanksgiving turkey for Christmas.
Listen to your employees and appreciate their honesty.

I have been working at Laureate Education full-time

    Pros

Salary and benefits are competitive. Some of the best people in Baltimore work at Laureate.

    Cons

Politics have become overwhelming. Budgets have been cut and when people leave, the company appears to hope nobody notices. Many managers are not genuine. They treat their employees poorly, but report to other senior management that their staff is happy and productive.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Almost all social activities have been curtailed in recent years. Employees aren't relating to each other and that affects the enthusiasm for the job. Although the company says they are collaborative, in reality, senior management is very autocratic and demands that orders be followed.
