Pros

Relatively good benefits Relatively good pay - compared to jobs with state The rank and file are good folks

Cons

The management has become more autocratic and political over the past year The work environment has deteriorated and morale of many employees is low There is more fear and anxiety due to layoffs and the impending loss of customers in 2016

Advice to Management

Practice two way communication that was touted a year ago.

    Pros

Relatively large outfit with opportunity to advance and change career directions. The benefits are adequate to good, and the HQ offices are nice. They're located on Lake Austin and adjacent to the Hula Hut (restaurant on the water).

    Cons

While most of the people are very friendly (mainly the older crowd that have been there for decades), there is a liberal bias amongst the staff. It seems as though hiring mgrs prefer people with that slant and hire accordingly.

    Advice to Management

Stop pushing a liberal, politically correct agenda!

  2. It has more to offer for less qualified people compared to those with better education and experience & qualifications

    Pros

stability in (energy) regulated business. Friendly work environment. Lots of volunteer opportunities. Benefits are ok. People who had opportunity of having a pension plan is working good.

    Cons

Work flexibility/Telecommute option is not there in many areas where it is possible considering the envionment goals. It is not unusual to see people will lower qualification get promotion or higher pay. Having a higher education/licenses/more experience doesn't mean much. A project manager with no good education or knowledge has more chances wo beat you. HR is no different that

    Advice to Management

Need to look into cross function area or departments. Lot of descripancies in how much people work and get paid.
