The experience is what you make of it

Team Leader (Former Employee)

ProsTremendous potential for personal and professional growth; an engaging experience, and a chance to work with, teach, and be a role model for some incredibly bright high school students; free travel, room and board, along with a moderate meal stipend for breaks between conferences

ConsTraining/orientation is focused more on the mission of the organization and less on the practical details one needs to know in order to be truly successful on the job; low wage, when considering the number of hours worked (about 14-16 hours per day for 10 consecutive days with 4-5 days between each conference); few fully developed/realized programs with more of a focus on leadership than academic work, as compared to competing organizations, and students will often notice this

Advice to Senior ManagementHire a professional HR firm to handle seasonal hiring, as often the right people aren't chosen for the job; increase pay and offer more incentives for strong performance
