The Pond is pretty good, just make sure you get on the 'right' lily pad

Pros

LeapFrog overall was a relatively 'fun' place to work. How can you not smile when there are toys and devices all around? In general, your success depends on whether or not you have a good boss who genuinely cares about you and your personal growth. There are some great leaders at LeapFrog and they are trying hard to find 'success' again (more sales). Good benefits (medical/dental/vision/401k match).

Cons

As with most companies, there are a few 'bad' apples who can make your experience miserable. Again, this goes back to aligning yourself with a group that has a leader who cares. They used to have tuition reimbursement, but this has faded out of existence.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Really listen to the feedback given and respect your employees.

    Pros

Relaxed timings.. optimum workload.... They give you time off when you need it. It is the best place to work if you just want a job and are not too serious about your career. You get discount on thier products which are very expensive outside. Lots of free food and bagels

    Cons

No real career advancement if you are in IT. Place is full of politics and filled with people from one area. New and fresh ideas are shot down as a threat to the way of doing things. The system is like one guy knows the system and he wouldnt share it with anyone for job security reasons

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Employees need to be respected more and please take off the surveillance cameras from every floor. Its creepy.

Former Employee - Associate Brand Manager in Emeryville, CA

    Pros

The products are fun and for the most part you feel good about them because they're educational. Technology and innovation are really cool and represent the brand well.

    Cons

This isn't brand management at all, it's product management. Executives drive initiatives without talking to one another so there's a ton of rework and last minute scrambles. There is no employee loyalty. Strategies have huge directional changes almost every 6 months.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Have a plan. Stick to it long enough to know whether it is working and how best to react. Communicate with your team. Recognize that your employees are working really, very hard.
