Pros

Best things about Learning Tree is that they offer quality courses, have relaxed dress codes, office closed between Christmas and New Years.

Cons

Could be better at work/life balance for employees. Maternity leave policy could be better. Micromanagement of employees made it bad.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Empower your employees and ease up on micromanaging. You will lose good people if they feel they are told what to do on an hourly and daily basis.

    Pros

Pleasant co-workers. Very willing to help each other. Nice office setting in suburbs. Company provides bagels weekly, and daily gourmet coffees. They're generous with food. Will give them that.

    Cons

Did not compensate enough; no bonuses for extra efforts. Micro managing in the upper levels. Still had too much "watch the clock" mentality from a few decades ago.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Do not spend your time micro-managing the employees at all levels. Need to give some autonomy to individuals. Less "hand slapping" and more "give it a try" attituded was needed.

    Pros

Competitive base pay, good commission structure that even comes with a ramp up guarantee your first 3 months there. Good benefits, education reimbursement, health club reimbursement, good incentive programs / sales contests. Management is flexible with time off and the company provides a decent amount of paid time off. Everyone is held to the same effort metrics.

    Cons

Very micro-managed and highly monitored. Sales territories are a not equal. A majority of Learning Tree's business is done in the greater DC and New York area so representatives that have territories in those areas have a sizable advantage. There's almost unfair pressue put on you to have exemplary sales numbers when you're covering a territory region where Learning Tree doesn't hold the same strong reptutation they have in their key business regions (Washington D.C. / New York)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The company runs multiple online surveys to guage employee needs yet it seemed like nothing was ever addressed. If you're not open to an employee's suggestion don't agree with them to placate their inquiry or suggestion. As another review mentioned, they could be more tactful with employees being let go as well.
