    Pros

    If the Portland division is any indication of the Seattle Lewis, the company has a great culture and most refreshingly a distinct lack of ego. Having worked for large contractors the attitudes, flexibility, and small company feel is extremely refreshing. Great people, innovative thinking, focus on efficiency, client focused, and good to it's folks... what more could you ask for in a general contractor.

    Cons

    Systems are not fully developed on many levels and although some may look at this as a con, others may find this refreshing and having great potential. Some of the leadership and people are not as aggressive as some may be used to in this business which could be looked at as a con. Compensation is fairly medium to low for the industry but this is in exchange for the pros that the company offers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Stay true to the current and original culture in spite of growth and new faces at senior positions. Keep the company feeling small and regional and resist overbearing corporate policies like the plague. Identify great talent WITHIN the company and reward as much as possible. Keep it lean, keep it green, & above all keep it humble.

    It's great being an employee owner.

    Cons

    Horrible at assuring a work life balance, if you don't work 60 hour work weeks you aren't pulling your weight.

    Create an environment where work-life balance is a consideration.
