    Pros

    LBL has a great work/life balance, allowing employees the ability to live outside work. While the days of 9/80 schedules are gone, most employees in the LA office plan their evenings and weekends without worrying about work conflicts. Time management is encouraged to complete tasks and meet deadlines but this is typically self-managed and stress free. LBL is a great office for self-starters that want a life outside of work.

    Cons

    Promotions are frequent and somewhat out-of-line with other firms. Rewarding quality employees is key to retaining staff. However, employees should consider these promotions in the context of LBL since they may not translate if they choose to move on.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Continue to encourage work/life balance. As a former employee, I enjoyed and now miss the stress free working environment and quality/fun people.

    Pros

    The staff is friendly and pleasant to work with. The interaction between departments is good at a staff level.

    Cons

    Upper management makes poor and irrational business decisions based on no or little information. They forget or ignore decisions they have made especially when those decisions come back to bite them (which is often).

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Management needs to improve their communication with the staff, make decisions that are based on facts and not fiction and learn the basic social skill of cause and effect.
