    Former Employee - Restaurant Manager

    Pros

They give you extensive training. Not only just Seafood, but wine and spirits as well. Quality of product is something to be proud of. They have very high standards. Being a server or bartender here is hard work, but it pays off. They promote from within, so if you are looking to run a restaurant one day, it's a great choice. They are constantly expanding (and busy!) in even this economy.

    Cons

Lower management makes average salary, long hours, late nights, and no travel reinbursment. When I was management, I literally had no life and no time to do anything outside the company. I would work 12 hour shifts plus an hour commute there and and hour commute back home. Days off were spent with call from upper management, conference calls, and mandatory meetings.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Gm's: it wouldn't kill you to close ONE night a week. District managers: Don't make managers travel so far when there are so many restaurants closer to where they live. Put a better emphasis on quality of life.
