Be very careful in your interview -- you will be misled if you are not extremely vigilant

I worked at LegalZoom.com as a contractor for less than a year

    Pros

Lots and lots of potential for making money
    Co-workers are great
The company markets a great service that is very easy to sell

    Cons

Absolutely no value is placed on hard work or revenue generated. Either you do things entirely by the book or they send you packing. You will have to be very aggressive and borderline rude in order to be compliant with the philosophy. The expectation is that everybody buys TODAY and arm twisting is mandatory. Very scripted approach.
They will not let you in on this philosophy during your interview, so I advise any candidates to bring that discussion forward, even though they will probably not be candid with you.
Extremely micromanaged environment-- much more than they let on
Very long and inconvenient hours for those starting
Very little room for growth. Certain sales reps have been in the same role for 5+ years

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Settle down on all the extreme hard selling. It is not necessary with the services LegalZoom provides, and it will ruin the company's NPS that you all supposedly care so much about. Short term profits may go up, but long term profitability will suffer. Treat your employees with respect and value their input. They are the backbone of your business. Do not treat them like expendable robots. How you treat your employees --> how your employees treat the customer --> how likely the customer is to retain your business

I have been working at LegalZoom.com full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Dress code. Free soda and bagels.

    Cons

Legalzoomed is micromanaged to the 100th degree. Compensation is lacking. They do not value their employees. No work/personal life balance. Must work late hours. Mandatory overtime. Yes I said mandatory.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Remember your sales people work for you. It is your responsibility to make sure it is a level playing field. Goals should not be met ata all costs.
