I worked at Lego Group

Pros

Family oriented company. You enjoy going to to work. Had a lot of company social events. Everyone worked in a team environment. Casual.

Cons

Growth and training was very limited. There was never time for it even when something was offered. Promotions were more about who you knew than what you know. Politics were very thick.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

You need to look outside your immediate colleagues for talent when recruiting

Forget about getting your foot in the door, no upward mobility from Call Center.

    I worked at Lego Group

    Pros

Employee discounts, flexible schedule and most co-workers were great!

    Cons

Terrible training, no upward mobility, once you took a job (even if the job was beneath your actual capabilities) you were stuck in that position. Upper management only saw where you worked currently and not your potential. After training (which was substandard to say the least) you are thrown out on the call center floor. Horrible experience being a temp-hire. We were told what the requirements were to stay on as a permanent employee and then those requirements were thrown out the window when the decisions were made. I would never work for this company again, even after receiving wonderful scores, perfect attendance and provided the company with the upsells on their 'free' magazine subscription and doing all the right things to stay after the temp time was over. This company really needs to get it together!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take a look at current employees, many of them have the potential to do the jobs you are hiring for, but you look outside the company first. Interviews aren't even given to current employees, what a bad way to do business.

Great organization, but not without its flaws!

I have been working at Lego Group

    Pros

Great product! Staff and management are all dedicated to their work. This says a lot about other companies who push less than reputable product. If what you're selling is worth supporting, you'll get that much more out of your employees who believe in what you're selling.

    Cons

Huge disconnect between senior management and store operation. Store management either disregards or is confused by directives pushed by home office. Some directives even go as far as failing spectacularly and making the customer experience bad because of these 'little' things. Management ineffective in rewarding good customer interaction, but very good at punishing negative interaction. Home office and management rarely listens to its store associates or the store for ways to improve the store.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Strengthen your organization structure. Directives fall on deaf ears and obvious failures are rarely corrected.
