    Pros

Very nice group of people. OK benefits,

    Cons

Factory in Germany and very hard to get things done because of this. Short sited mgt fix things once but not the over all problem so issues keep coming up over and over. Low starting pay and low % raises.

    Advice to Management

Better review of process with issues and better communication with employees not just more communication. Managers need to take ownership of issues to resolution

Great products, Great reputation, short sighted managment more focused on winning the battle than winning the war

    Pros

Stable. Great reputation. Some really great people. Great technology. Danaher is a very Ethical company. Leica could be really great. Their Bond III platform is bullet proof

    Cons

Very punitive managment style. Managers are miserable and they pass their anxiety downhill. Leica has lost some good people because of fear. You are always afraid that you will lose your job. Either by performance or opinion.

    Advice to Management

Look at the big picture. Travel in the field. reconnect with customers. dont be so focused on the short term ivory tower strategy. This might be a result of hiring managers that come from pharmaceutical and laboratory sales, where the object is to beat the customer into submission. Leica has an opportunity to be the White Knight of IHC. What is it going to take to win "long term"? Please do better with Social Media.
IT: Lotus Notes... really? Field reps have to replicate. so 80's. They need IT leadership that can keep pace with technology. Leica represents cutting edge and tries to present it with 20 year old technology. A company that makes histology equipment ought not be making CRM software. Get Sales force and move on. Give your reps iPads and develop aps and web presentations that sales can use and customers can access.
Leica has an amazing customer list. Tap into it. Drive Collaboration.

When customers believe what you believe, they buy whatever you build. E.g. Apple
