Pros

co-workers care about one another and are often friends outside of the office. The office runs almost entirely by the desire to please the customer and we therefore have very dedicated people here.

Cons

Medical benefits are horrible, 401k matching was recently decreased, expected to work overtime all the time

Advice to ManagementAdvice

leverage the internal drive to do the best job and be the best with positive reinforcement. The negative is not only a buzz-kill but a productivity kill in the long run

Doesn't Recommend
Negative Outlook
No opinion of CEO

    Nobody is trained on anything!

    Pros

If you like being frustrated and working hard just to watch others stand around doing nothing while getting paid the same you do than this is the job for you. If you do not like your family here is a chance to spend 100 hours a week away from them but only if you can deal with people lacking work ethic and common sense.

    Cons

People were sent out into the field with little or no training which caused the nightmare of recreating tickets on the tower which resulted in trucks backing up to the main streets. Multiple requests were made for more assistance on the tower but were never answered even with the large about of people sitting in cars or standing around taking advantage of the good old boy system earning a free pay check. Training for the monitors going out into the field was a joke. It was very seldom a ticket was scan able which lead to manually doing tickets on the spot causing backups and crabby truck drivers. The only rule they preach is "Call your Supervisor." This would work if the supervisors did anything besides shell out empty promises.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Have a real training plan put in place for the monitors. The efficiency monitors can greatly improve the flow of the traffic of the delivery site.

    Pros

I received raises each of 3 years employment. My management listened to my ideas to help grow SAIC (at it was called at the time), and even invested in packaged materials so I could present concepts on "usability" during brown bag sessions.

    Cons

When the business group to which I belong was merged with another business group, some of the sizzle and warm co-operation faded. Seemed that budgets were tightened and attitudes were configured to be more "walk the straight and narrow". The sequestration of Spring 2013 saw the loss of well qualified employees whose billing rate was higher than the average. One would hope that a replacement position could have been offered, but such was not the case. On the other hand, business is business....

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

What management might call "tightening up", employees might call "getting too hide-bound and stultifying". Perceptions count. Of course, leadership style may differ across the business units.
