Great for temp work; don't expect to move up.

Pros

I took this job straight out of undergrad, and it was great entry-level office experience. The roles are pretty flexible, and you may be switching teams at a moment's notice. The starting pay was not at all bad, even for temp work.

Cons

This company thrives on low-skilled data entry and office work. Do not expect any salary increases within the first year, even if hired on full time. The company rides the same tide as the financial market, so be prepared to see hiring booms followed by layoffs in a very short amount of time.

    Pros

Opportunities to earn extra money working overtime, fairly flexible with schedules, casual dress code (jeans) on a daily basis unless clients are in the building

    Cons

No raises and no bonuses for non-management, employees are over-worked and under-compensated, no career opportunities, managers evaluate employee production by quantity and not quality, employees are forced to train new hires with no additional compensation while still receiving a pipeline of new work

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management needs to recognize when they have good employees and then acknowledge and compensate them fairly.

Great place to work, even with the drive-LPS Field Services

    Pros

Great, funny, laid back, intelligent people for the most part. Folks with a great attention to detail. Management is overall excellent with several different managerial styles to "choose" from as to why you want to work for/with. Different special projects and advanced functions that will really let your special professional skills shine. Movement is possible within the company if you demonstrate measurable leadership skills and *if* someone likes you well enough. Dress code is fairly relaxed, but don't ever wear a hoodie or flipflops..

    Cons

Management shuffling around teams way too often. This job is also terribly complicated and the training is as good as it can be, but people are thrown into the deep end of the pool way too soon and then sometimes terminated for asked too many questions (sometimes not even covered in training, as property preservation has a lot of variables). Favoritism is pretty rampant, but in many cases makes sense as birds of a feather flock together. It has to be in the instinct and in the blood to do this job and a person will usually attract attention of the higher ups if they really have it. It's something of a nebulous selection process, however.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please stop hiring your friends/family members just because. We're still a fairly small and very close-knit company. The peons see it and do comment on it from time to time. Promote more from within. And, please, please stop firing temps for asking questions, there are a lot of very intelligent, well read and educated folks that have come and gone from LPS due to that and it is overall a loss for the company as many (but not all) were looking to make a career at LPS and had brought quite a lot to the table skill-wise.
